Now accepting nominations for 2011 Equal Opportunity Award
Our 2011 EOD (Equal Opportunity Day) AWARD DINNER is scheduled for Friday, April 7, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita.
Nominations for 2011 awards are now being accepted. The 2011 UNSUNG HERO AWARD is named to honor and recognize an individual who has demonstrated and sustained extraordinary support to people, families and the community. They must have volunteered their time in caring for those listed above. These individuals go beyond the demands of everyday life, and dedicate themselves to uplifting and improving the quality of life for others. The Urban League 2011 EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CORPORATE AWARD celebrates their diversity accomplishments and encourages other corporations to strive for excellence in promoting diversity within their corporate structure and supply chain. Companies are encouraged to nominate themselves. Both recipients of the 2011 award will be presented on April 7, 2011 at the Urban League of Kansas Equal Opportunity Day.
The Urban League of Kansas enlists a focused community-wide appreciation for the value of diversity for all Kansans.
To nominate a corporate entity for the Equal Opportunity award or an individual for the Unsung Hero award, download the appropriate document below and send to Lydia Santiago or print, fill out, and return it to the Urban League of Kansas office.
Green Eggs and Ham Volunteer Day
Recently, NULITERS from North & SE High schools volunteered their time and entertaining talent to children enrolled in Head Start as a part of Green Eggs & Ham Day! The day focuses on children's literacy and is a great way to get youth to give back to their community. The pre-school children see them as role models and that's something for which we can be proud of our youth!
